Artist Statement

I create immersive art that invites people to step into new realities. My work centers on the idea of the portal: a threshold, a turning point, a container for transformation. Whether it’s through sculpture, painting, projection, or interactive technology, I’m exploring how we move through space and perception—and what opens when we surrender to the unknown.

I started as an oil painter, but over the past decade, my practice has expanded in scale, medium, and impact. I’ve built large-scale public installations that live outside the gallery and into the world, including on trails, in mines, on elevators, and even on ice skating rinks.

The shift began in 2020, when I launched The Unknown Zone during the pandemic. I began collecting reclaimed doors from my neighbors in Telluride and turning them into vibrant portals. It was my way of processing the global isolation and personal transformation we were all moving through. That project became a mirror for others, sparking self-reflection, storytelling, and community connection.

My work lives at the intersection of art, nature, and technology. I’m drawn to unexpected places, and I’ve created studios in remote environments like a historic mining mill, a barn, and a yurt in Alaska. These off-grid residencies have been key to my creative growth, providing me with the time to go inward, listen, and explore what wants to emerge.

I’m here to bend your mind through art that transforms, transports, and invites you to step into something greater.
